This week has started with quite a bang. My heart is filled with sadness and joy for a special family in our congregation as they grieve the loss of an important member of their family. I pray that this song will give you peace as you listen to it.

Feeling a little overwhelmed and Music Monday!

Do you ever start out by having a great day and getting a lot accomplished and then all of a sudden one thing makes you feel completely overwhelmed?  I felt that way today. It is definitely not the first time but I haven't felt that way in quite a while. It's so crazy to think that one little thing can make you feel this way. 

What causes this?

 How do I stop it from happening? 

As much as I'd like to say that I immediately run to the Lord with my feeling of being overwhelmed, I honestly don't always do that. I shut down and get irritable and close everyone around me out.  As I sit and think about the situation I am reminded of so many scriptures that can help with this very thing.

" Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, but a good word makes it glad." Proverbs 12:25 - surround yourself by things and people who are going to encourage you when you are struggling. 

 " What, then shall we say in response to thes things? If God is for us, who can be against us." Romans 8:31 - this is such a truthful verse. Nothing in this world can destroy us if we have Christ by our side. 

I pray that the next time I begin struggling with this that I seek Christ and not try to fix it on my own.

When I hear this song I realize that nothing I face can even compare to what Christ overcame.

Music Monday!

Since I'm going to be trying to blog more I thought I would try posting a weekly post about what music I have been listening to. Music is a big part of my life and I always have to have some sort of music on if I am doing anything. 

I'm not a big fan of American Idol but I really like the new song by Colton Dixon who was on AI last season.  - Colton Dixon " Never Gone"

What has been going on the past 10 months....

Wow, has it really been 10 months since my last post? I'm really not very good at keeping up with this but I'm hoping to get better. 

Here are some pictures to summarize what's been going on with me and my hubby, Nate and our crazy busy life. 

We bought a house!!! 

Then we did some demolishing and renovations! 

The renovations are still going on and will probably continue for awhile but I'm okay with that. We are making the house our home.

The last 10 months have been filled with happiness and sadness. It has showed us that seasons end and lives change but that we will always be a part of the greatness God has in store.  We have made new friends and began new adventures and have began planning for our next season in life. I don't know what God has in store but I know it will be wonderful no matter what it is.  I'm looking forward to sharing my life with you through my words, pictures, music and scripture.
